The company Weber-Stephen Goods LLC is a private company which is owned by an American manufacturer of gas, electrical, and biomass grills for outdoor usage which are complemented with unique accessories. In 2004, Weber-Stephen purchased some of the assets of the rival Ducane in the sale of creditors. It is also the owner of restaurants and publishes cookbooks, has developed June, a smart oven company that sells countertop ovens with cameras and constructed temperature sensors so that they can quickly bake, roast and sometimes even cook food in a number of ways.
June, established in 2013, has launched three iterations of its smart oven, the latest to be revealed in October 2020. You can’t really buy one right now—website June’s says they’re currently available on a waiting list.
Production of June Oven and other June items will begin after acquisition, says Weber. June will run as a separate business unit within Weber, headed by Matt Van Horn, co-founder of June and CEO of the company.
According to Weber, this acquisition will be able to aid June in order to carefully plan and operate its future plans in their business more properly. June and Weber have recently partnered on Weber Link, a grilling device that uses temperature readings and mobile connections to help buyers reliably grill meat.
The acquisition is intended to help Weber leap ahead when it comes to smart grilling technology. Weber says he aims to introduce “digital products, facilities and experiences to help grilling more interactive and exciting.” June’s other co-founder, Nikhil Bhogal, will join Weber as the leader in the software and network adapters group.
The financial terms of the arrangement have not been disclosed but more information on this will soon unfold—exciting things are coming ahead for the company with exciting new technology for their customers to use very soon in 2021.
